RóisÃn Whelan Dance Audition Notice 2022/23 Season
RóisÃn Whelan Dance is creating narrative contemporary dance works that are accessible for all with community engagement at its heart. The company is based in Ireland.
RóisÃn Whelan Dance is looking for dancers for the upcoming 2022 and 2023 seasons to work across various performance projects with the company.
Audition Date: Saturday 8th October 2022
Location: Dance Ireland, Foley Street, Dublin, Ireland.
REQUIREMENTS: / We are looking for
Excellent performance skills underpinned with strong contemporary technique, floor work, and partnering skills. Classical dance skills not essential but desired. Dancers from all backgrounds are welcome to apply. While we welcome applicants from all countries, please note we cannot provide or cover the costs of VISA's therefore you must have the right to work in Ireland. UK nationals can work in Ireland without a visa, there are no restrictions.
Please state availability in your application for:
Period 1: November 20th to December 16th 2022
Period 2: January 8th to 22nd 2023
Period 3: April 17th to June 11th 2023
Period 4: August 13th to September 1st 2023
We are looking for up to 4 dancers to work over the various periods above. We may not use the same dancers for all periods of work.

Ballet Ireland Emerging Choreographer Award
Roisin will be working with Ballet Ireland over the next year creating work on the company dancers through research periods
Activate Residency Award Backstage Theatre Longford
Roisin will be spending two weeks in residency alongside dancer Joshua Scott in the creation of a new work.
Hatch Emerging Artist Award
Roisin is delighted to have been named 2020 Dance Ireland's Emerging Artist Award.
Individual Artist Grant
Individual Artist Grant 2020 and 2021, Roisin will be using this funding to work on new works through 2020 and 2021.
Springforward Bursary Award
This wonderful award will allow Roisin to work alongside Kerry Nicholls as a creative mentor in 2021 and her creative piece to start creating her new work online through lockdown.
Dance Ireland National Residency Award
In 2020 and 2021, Roisin will be in residence at Dance Ireland working on her new creative work.
Shawbrook Dance Residency Award
Taking over the forest at Shawbrook, Roisin will be working with company dancer Matilda Maginnis on her new work.
